I’m not entirely sure when it happened, but some time in the past several months YOLO (short for “you only live once”) became a thing that people say, hashtag, update their Facebook with, etc. This Washington Post blog entry sums it up quite nicely.
Normally I’d find a trend like this extremely obnoxious but “You Only Live Once” also happens to be one of, if not the best Strokes songs there is. It’s seriously really good, you should listen and immediately add it to your Memorial Day BBQ playlist.
