When I was in college I spent a couple summers working as a camp counselor with some friends. One of the fun aspects of working that kind of job when you are that age is coming up with euphemisms for the things you do in your free time that you don’t want the kids you are responsible knowing about. Another, similarly entertaining aspect is teaching them specifically clean rap lyrics or just choosing a particularly inoffensive part of the song. The “Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis” line in this song was and is ideal for this very purpose.
Why This Song? Why Today?: I actually intended to use this yesterday since it was what would’ve have been Biggie’s 40th birthday, but I’ve been meaning to diversify my SOTD selections and some hip hop was necessary so I figure it’s still good even a day late.
